A Stone Throw Away From Everything
Athena sits in a quiet area in the north of Mauritius. Just a stone throw away from Grand Baie and La Croisette Mall. A short drive from all major local shops, grocery stores, bars, clubs and restaurants. Each villa features its own pool in a landscaped completely enclosed garden for your utmost privacy.
Get Out As Soon As You Get There
Drive in directly to your villa and sip on your welcome drinks awaiting you inside. The staff will greet you, help you check-in and guide you through the property and its facilities. Once done, we suggest you get changed, get into some beach-chic attire and leave!
Get on the free shuttle to ‘La Plage’. A private beach club by Evaco in Trou aux Biches. Enjoy your complimentary drinks and snacks while gazing out at the white sandy beach and blue sea. Enjoy the sunbeds or a little massage after a good swim. The beach club comprises of a multi-cuisine restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner.
You may well choose to stay at Athena Villas and enjoy the comfort of your privacy. But if you do decide to go to ‘La Plage’ for a sundowner, we recommend going as early as possible. Ideally right after checking in.
Chic & Cozy Interiors
The villa itself is well appointed. It features a rather small yet spacious open plan living with a well equipped kitchen for your cooking needs. The linear indoor living area and the annexed outdoor pool with its adjoining terrace make Athena Villas a great choice for entertaining & engaging into conversations anywhere you are.
Athena Villas are available with 1 to 4 bedrooms accommodating at most 8 adults. The rooms are on the small side however the master bedroom is fairly generous in size. The latter has a direct view & access onto the swimming pool.
While the guest rooms do not have en-suite facilities, the master bedroom on the other hand has an open en-suite bathroom. It includes his & hers sink and a rain shower with a tiny pebble courtyard to bring in natural light from above.
It’s All About The Outdoors
We have been to Athena a few times. Unfortunately we never ever turn on the satellite TV at our disposal. Athena to us is all about the outdoors and cherishing moments with your close ones. To us there is more to do outdoors than indoors.
You can drop the idea of cooking in the kitchen and fire up the BBQ in the garden instead. Sun bathing on the sun loungers after a little dip in the pool or relaxing underneath the covered patio’s couches. Enjoy board games or great conversations while sipping cocktails right by the pool.
Yes The Pool Is Equally Small But Its Heated
You can barely swim in the swimming pool. In fact it is more like a big plunge pool rather than a true swimming pool. But who cares? You don’t visit Athena Villas to do laps; you go there to enjoy the company of your loved ones and enjoy the benefits of a heated private plunge pool. A late night dip? Not a problem. Skinny Dipping? If your guests are fine with it, no one’s stopping you.
To us the heated pool is probably the single best reason why we love going there for birthday weekends or get togethers. Make sure you do request the pool to be heated prior to your arrival and also inquire whether it is included in your stay or not. If not, they may require a separate fee to heat the pool; which trust us, is totally worth it.
Wake up To The Smell Of Coffee & Fresh Pastries
Mornings are made a little more enjoyable at Athena as continental breakfast is usually included in your stay. What makes it even more enjoyable is that housekeeping staff lay your breakfast table within the comfort of your villa. Breakfast is ready for you the moment you wake up and walk to the dining table.
